Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dimensions of your sheets?

Why do you use cotton?

Cotton is a soft, natural fibre and is the world’s most popular fabric for bed sheets. This is because it is durable and breathable. We use cotton in our bed sheets simply because we know it is the best and we knew it would give us the super soft finish we wanted from our sheets.

Our cotton is hand-picked, long-staple, combed cotton. This is because these three characteristics provide the softest, strongest cotton possible, even after they’ve had their fair share of time in the washing machine.

Where are your sheets made?

Our sheets are made in a leading textile manufacturer in Israel.

What is sateen weave?

Sateen is a special weaving method that exposes more of the cotton on the surface of your sheets, making for a smoother, softer finish.

Are your sheets suitable for sensitive skin?

Sateen weave produces a soft, buttery like texture making them kind to sensitive skin. While we can’t say our sheets are allergy free, it is a well-known fact that sateen sheets are kinder to skin than other weaves.

Should I wash my sheets before using them?

We do recommend washing before first use to ensure your sheets have the freshest linen smell to accompany their super soft feel. Sateen gets softer with every wash, so while we know your sheets will be super soft straight out of the box they will continue to get softer over time.

What certifications do your sheets have?
All of our sheets are certified STANDARD 100 by Oeko-Tex® due to being free of harmful chemicals and dyes.
What is thread count?
When cotton is woven, threads are arranged horizontally and vertically to create fabric. Thread count is a measure of the number of cotton threads in one square inch of fabric.
What thread count are Third sheets?
Third sheets are a true 500 thread count. As we use single-ply cotton, our count has not been manipulated in any way (be careful as other companies use multi-ply cotton to inflate their thread count). We have tested fabrics ranging from 180-1,000 and found 500 to be the sweet spot between cost and benefit, delivering an extremely soft touch and a durable cotton fabric that improves with age.

What’s the best way to care for my sheets?
To get the most out of your Third sheets we recommend you wash them with like colours. They are machine washable, and iron and tumble dry friendly. To minimise wrinkling we suggest hang drying your sheets. Don't be afraid to regularly wash your Third sheets as our sateen weave gets softer with every wash.
What heat do I wash your sheets on?
Third sheets need to be washed on a warm temperature, at around 40 degrees Celsius.
Do I have to iron your sheets?
You don’t have to iron Third sheets, but if you wish to, we recommend you do it on a medium setting to preserve the sheet’s quality.
How can I minimise the wrinkling of my sheets?
Cotton naturally wrinkles, however, we’ve chosen a sateen weave to give a smoother finish to minimise wrinkling. We recommend hanging your sheets out to dry instead of using a dryer. There are chemical methods that can be used to reduce wrinkling, such as mercerization, but we haven’t done this to our sheets as it is harmful to the environment.
